To calculate the indicator's value, divide the number of operational water sources by the total number of assessed water sources. Multiply the result by 100 to convert it to a percentage.

1) Water source functionality, as measured by this indicator, is widely recognized as a main indicator for Post-Implementation Monitoring (PIM) of water sources. Unlike typical project monitoring, which is often limited to the lifespan of a project and generally short-term - primarily aimed at reporting on water infrastructure and people reached within stated timeframes or budgets - this indicator assesses a deeper level of sustainability. It specifically evaluates the quality of the local water source management group and its ability to maintain a consistent water service for the community over time. Post-Implementation Monitoring itself represents a commitment to long-term monitoring of the outcomes of project implementation, continuing beyond the official end date of the project to ensure lasting impact.
